VENTURA — October 26, 2026. The City of Ventura is in the final week of applications for $340,000 in Community Grants for local arts, cultural events and wellness projects. Complete applications are due Friday, October 30, at 5 p.m., but residents should note an earlier cutoff that has already passed as of this article: requests for a secure grant-application portal link were due October 26 at 1 p.m..
Four categories with different amounts
The official program allocates $120,000 to arts-organization support (individual awards $5,000–$20,000); $75,000 to cultural projects ($3,000–$15,000); $15,000 to individual artist projects ($3,000–$5,000); and $130,000 to community wellness projects ($3,000–$20,000). Applicants may apply in only one category per cycle, and funded work must take place in Ventura and benefit residents.
What applicants must check now
Organizations or artists who requested access by the 1 p.m. October 26 cutoff should follow their individual portal instructions and upload all required documentation before the October 30 deadline. The city states that it does not accept late or incomplete proposals. Those who missed the link-request deadline should contact program staff for clarification rather than assume a new link will be provided; the public notice does not promise exceptions.
Awards will be reviewed in November and announced provisionally in December, with agreements and funding expected in January 2027. None of the $340,000 is guaranteed to an applicant simply because a proposal is submitted.
