VENTURA, CALIFORNIA — Friday, November 6, 2026. Ventura residents planning weekend rail trips should check their travel plans: Metrolink’s Ventura County Line will not run Saturday, November 7, or Sunday, November 8, between Ventura-East and Los Angeles Union Station. Metrolink announced the complete two-day service suspension for track maintenance and rehabilitation. The agency says it will not provide alternate transportation.
What changes for Ventura passengers
Riders who normally use Ventura-East for a connection toward Los Angeles cannot rely on a regular Metrolink Ventura County Line departure that weekend. The notice applies to this line and these dates; it does not establish a shutdown of every train operator or every transit service in Ventura County.
Do not assume there is a Metrolink shuttle
The agency specifically states that no replacement buses will be offered. It directs passengers to the Ventura County Transportation Commission for information about other public transit options. Travelers should confirm schedules and fares with the actual operator before leaving, rather than assuming a one-for-one rail replacement.
When should service return?
The official advisory describes a Saturday–Sunday closure, not a permanent cancellation. Schedules can change, so use Metrolink’s official upcoming advisories and schedule search to verify later service.
